Langtang and Helambu Region located north of Kathmandu valley at a mere distance of 32 k.m. away as the crow fly or aeronautical distances the nearest mountain region which extends to Nepal and Tibet –China borders at Kyarong which is directly north of Rasuwa district within Langtang and Central Himalaya.

Langtang and Helambu, one of the most accessible regions of 5 to 6 hours overland journey to reach at Dhunche town and Syabrubesi villages as for Helambu an hour drive to reach at Sundarijal, just north of Kathmandu valley rim where walk to Helambu and towards Langtang and Gosainkund area starts from.

Langtang areas protected by Langtang National Park, one of the first ever park introduced in 1976 with 1,710 sq. kms areas, as well Nepal second largest Langtang National Park, enrich with flora and fauna where rare and elusive Red Panda are found in bamboo thickets on route trekking within dense green wood land of tall rhododendron-pines-magnolia-birch and fir tree lines.

In spring the country within rolling hills and valleys will be alive when wild-flowers are in full bloom with riots of colors making the place into natural garden, a paradise of flower lovers and as well for botanist students.

Around Langtang areas where you can walk to its scenic and beautiful Langtang valley trek at Kyanjin Gompa and beyond with fascinating views of Ganesh Himal (7,405 m) Langtang Lirung (7,234 m)  Ghengu Liru (Langtang II  6,571m), Kimshun (6,745 m) and Shalbachum(6,918m) towards south Chimsedang with arrays of peaks includes Naya-Kanga (5,846m) and Gangchempo, Tilman's beautiful Fluted Peak, Jugal Himal and ending to eastern horizon at Dorje Lakpa (6,980m) on the walk includes 
views of Manaslu and Annapurna Himalaya also. 

People and culture of Langtang & Helambu Region:

Langtang region inhabited mostly by Tamang people a mountain and high hill tribe of Nepal Himalaya with incredible and impressive Buddhist culture and religion with ancient Bon sect of animism practices as it was sine thousands of years.

At Helambu area dominated by Hyalmo tribe with some Sherpa and Tamang people where the religion and culture are similar to each other of strong Tibetan origin and traditional way of life.

Trek and other adventure around Langtang & Helambu Region:

Langtang and Helambu Region offers various Trekking and Adventure to choose from Tamang Heritage Trail, a short moderate walk to beautiful Langtang valley, and can combine Langtang trekking with Gosainkund a holy lake, where hundreds of pilgrims of both Hindu and Buddhist religion visits the glacial sacred pond for a holy dip and religious rites in the month of August and an auspicious events at full moon time.

 

The Langtang trek with Gosainkund can include Helambu areas also with exciting moment on daily walk crossing Gosainkund Pass / Laurabina-La 4,609 m /15,100 ft,
and for more challenging adventure can take a high pass over Ganja-la Pass at 5,122 m / 16,800 ft high to reach at Helambu in Tarkye Gang from Langtang valley and Kyanjin Gompa areas.

Other adventure includes trekking peaks climb of popular Yala and Naya Kanga Peak or Ganja-la peaks with Langshisa peak at the end of Langtang valley rim.

Langtang area also provides excellent mountaineering challenge climb of Langtang Ri and Langtang Lirung of both above 7,000 m high mountains.

Seasons:
Langtang & Helambu Region can be trekked all seasons however monsoon period in July and August will be wet, however the areas will be fresh with green vegetations and alive with wild flowers.

March to June will be lively with clear of mountains mostly during morning and afternoon time with pleasant temperature of 18 to 20 degree Celsius, and minimum of 0 to - 05 degree depending upon the altitude of trekking.
